Bayrone Melvin was born on September 8, 1946, in Logan County, Holden, West Virginia, and died on April 10, 2024, in Franklin County, Columbus, Ohio.
The foundation of Bayrone's religious experience was at Shiloh Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio. He was baptized at an early age, and his legacy became a kind and generous heart. He loved to sing and taught himself the piano. His kind, generous, and loving spirit led him to spend his later years visiting elderly church members who were home-bound or confined to neighborhood retirement homes.
During high school he became a member of the Army Guard. After graduating from Central High School, he moved to California, where he completed his guard commitment, then went to work for Douglas Aircraft.
Bayrone was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie George and Ruby-Stallworth Melvin, and his brother, Willie George Melvin. He leaves to cherish precious memories. Sisters Hattie Hutchins, Sherrie Hardy, Patricia McGowan, Gwendolyn Thomas, and Bonnie (Robert) Sessley; cousins Kathy Thompson and Donald (Geneive) Thompson of Los Angeles, California, Margaret Crowder of Philadelphia, Pa. Henry Stallworth of Brewton, Alabama; Barbara Stallworth-Hardaway of Frisco City, Alabama, Charlie Anderson of Mobile, Alabama; James Butler of Germany, Mark Mahan, Tonya Butler and Coretta (Duane) Barnes of Columbus, Ohio; Nieces and nephews Regina Ibanez, Leonadra (Philip) Sessley, and Charles Hutchins; Roshana Hardy, Leila Payne, Levi McGowan, and Kineta (Scott) Peebles, Bobbi Sessley, Charles Sessley, and Robert (Dawn) Sessley Jr.; Phermin (Brandon) Abbott, Tehani (Isaac) Adu-Nuamah, Lalonee Thomas, and Stephon Thomas; Jabin Ibanez, Jeremy Ibanez, Talisha Clinton, Nathallie (Darshan) Duckson; David (Cleo) Distin, Tyler (Tyrone) Wen, Augustus, Walker, and Zoe Sessley; and a host of other relatives and friends.
