Abner Bryant, aka "Shoe" "Abby" was born March 27, 1940 to the Union of Howard and Bertha Bryant. Abby departed this life on Friday November 2, 2018. Abner was a product of the Columbus Public School System. He attended Columbus Public Schools. Abner left school to go to the United States Army, he was honorably discharged in 1958. Abner worked for "Steven Steel Trucking." He spent 30 years driving in and out of Columbus. Abner loved to shoot pool, travel, gamble, and have a good time. He loved to dress and look his best at all times. He loved life to the fullness. Abby was blessed to be the last of his siblings and he was here to welcome his brother Leroy home from being a prisoner of war from the Korean War. Abner held the position as the Chairman of the Wooden, Corbett, Williams, Bryant reunion committee.
Abner is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Bertha Bryant, his brothers RFC Leroy Williams Bryant, Roger Williams, Cecil Bryant and Howard Bryant; his sisters Lillie Mae Gossett, Ruby Williams, Ethel (Daniel) Harris, Essie Williams, Lillar Williams; one daughter Lisa Kirk (Robert) Taylor. Long time friends, Molly Skillman, Flordina Bryant, Westley Douthitt, and Curtis Bosley.
He is survived by his loving children Keith (Brenda) and Kenneth (Tamira) Lott, Carlisa Miles, Kevin Ardister, Wanda Lott, Pam (Sidney) Howell, Felicia Bryant, Tia Bryant, April Kirk (Bryant) Suber, Duwand (Tamra) Bryant, Rohonda Bryant and Marquis Lanier. One special daughter Kardina Wiley and a special son Lawyer Westbrook IV. 51 grandchildren and 99 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren. One sister in love Deborah Williams, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Special friends Bonnie Bryant, Priscilla Jones, Von Kirk, Denise Lanier, Judith Holeman, Andrew Jordan, George Jordan, Martha Miller, June Craine, Hazel Terry and Dolly Mosely.
