Angeline Westbrook was born in Columbus, Ohio on June 16, 1937 to the late Nathaniel and Nell (Williams) Cox. She was the fifth of nine siblings. Angeline departed this life on Sunday February 24, 2019 at the age of 81.
Angeline graduated from Central High School, where she was very active and played in the marching band and sang in the choir. Angeline married George J. Westbrook Sr., after high school, on February 19, 1955. To this union were born five children, George J. Jr. (Joe), Nathaniel L. (Buddy), Veronica A. (Ronnie), Robert V. (Yancy), and Victoria L. (Penny). They were married 40 years when God called George home.
As a child Angeline was raised up in the Church of Christ Apostolic Faith on Pennsylvania and Collins. Her adult years led her to Macedonia Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. Later, the Lord led her back to Church of Christ as her family was called back.
Through her desire to become a nurse, she was employed by OSU for several years until her husband asked her to come back home to take care of the kids. She also worked on and off at The Ohio State Fair with her sisters.
She had many church activities she participated in such as prison ministry, missionaries, women’s choir, mass choir, Bible study, Sunday school, you name it! She also loved reading, writing, puzzles, walking, photography, and shopping.
She leaves to celebrate her life four children, George J. Westbrook- El, Nathaniel L. (Sharon) Westbrook, Veronica A. (Robert) Westbrook-Houston, and Victoria Westbrook; sisters Ramona Davie, Dorothy Johnson of Columbus, Ohio; sisters-in-law Virginia Starghill Logan of West Virginia, Lenora Moss of North Carolina and Florine Perkins of Hubbert, Ohio.
She is preceded in death by four brothers Rudolph, Richard, Nathaniel and Robert Cox; and two sisters Betty Cox and Maxine Allen.
Home Going Celebration will take place Friday, March 1, 2019 at Church of Christ of the Apostolic Faith, 1200 Brentnell Avenue, Columbus, OH 43219.
