Beverly Jean Lacey was born to John and Eleanor Lacey in Columbus, Ohio on November 11, 1956. As the eldest of three siblings. She grew up in the Eastgate Community on Nelson Road. She attended Eastgate Elementary, Champion Junior High and East High School Drill Team.
Beverly and her life partner Joseph Williams gave birth to their only child Kenneth Lacey in 1979. She worked briefly at CVS until the early passing of her son in 2001.
Beverly was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church where she was a member of the Women’s Missionary Society. Beverly had a long battle with Crohn’s Disease and COPD.
Beverly was preceded in death by Father, John Lacey; Grandparents, John and Coziean Cundiff; Son Kenneth Lacey; and life partner Joe Williams. She is survived by mother, Eleanor (Cundiff) Reed; sister, Angela (Rodney) Van Cleaf; brother Elijah Masathi; special uncle Harold Cundiff; and a host of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Beverly enjoyed her time playing bingo and going to her exercise class. She will be deeply missed by all those who loved her.
Family will receive friends for a Memorial Service, Saturday, August 10, 2019 at St. Paul AME Church, 112 Jefferson Avenue, Cols, OH 43209 at 9:30am until time of service 10:30am.
