Constance Gullick Obituary

Constance M. Gullick (Montgomery) was born July 26, 1946, to Rosalee James and Joseph Montgomery in Columbus, Ohio. On September 13, 2019, she peacefully made her transition to glory, leaving behind a lifetime of memories.

Constance was a proud graduate of East High School. In 1964, she united with her high school sweetheart, Dennis D. Gullick, Jr., her husband of 35 years. From that union, two beautiful children were born, Dennis III and Stacey. Affectionately known as Connie or Mommie Connie, she began developing a love for cosmetology around the young age of 12. Connie was a Master Cosmetologist, well known for her satin press and silk ribbons. Her expertise and professionalism were highly valued, and she passionately shared her knowledge of the craft with those she encountered.

Connie never met a stranger. She had a compassionate and infectious spirit for helping others and was naturally nurturing. This was evident through her love for people. Continually investing in her community, Connie orchestrated her own personal mentoring program, providing job opportunities to a number of youth and adults. She always strived to encourage others to be the best version of themselves. Connie also loved gardening and nurturing plants and was a proud member of the Sigma Iota Sorority.

Connie was a faithful, long-time member of Mt. Vernon A.M.E Church, where she served the Lord for over 40 years. She served as a member of the 5th Stewardess Board and worked in other ministries when able. She eagerly looked forward to attending church, particularly her Sunday School class. She prepared weekly by studying the lessons and sharing what she learned with all who would listen. Connie strived daily to live and be a true example of Christ.

Connie was proceeded in death by her parents, Joseph Montgomery and Rosalee James, and husband Dennis D. Gullick Jr. Connie leaves to cherish her memory, her sister; Josephine Thompson; her son; Dennis III ( Kimberly); daughter; Stacey (Melvin Sr.); grandchildren; Dennis IV (Erica), Timia, Mica, Melanie, Melvin Jr., and Ara; niece; Tracie Thompson; nephew; Joe Thompson Jr.; stepfather; Charles L. James; special grandchildren; De'Antwain Ross, Devon Ross; special uncle; James A. Burton, Sr. (Deborah); and her beloved goddaughters; Marcella Williams and Natosha Willis. She also leaves to cherish her memories her special cousins; John Duff and Shakriyyaah Abdul Salaam (Elus), along with a host of great-grandchildren, adoptive nieces and nephews, and friends. Connie impacted so many lives and her legacy lives on through all who knew her.
