Craig D Muhammad

Our beloved husband, son, father, uncle, brother and friend, Craig Devan Muhammad, graced the world with his presence on May 18, 1968 with the help of his parents, Verdia Thompson and John Warren.

Throughout his entire life, Brother Craig has loved music, good food, and exploring the wonders of the Earth. He always sought out something greater—within Allah (God), God’s creations and within himself. As a result, the knowledge he gained—from urban farming to the teachings of the Nation of Islam to the origins of Hip Hop and so much more—and the love he acquired was passed onto everyone he came across. Flawed and forgiven by God Himself, Brother Craig extended the same love and grace to others. Without having to say much, he always knew the right words you needed to hear. And, he was always there to lend a helping hand. A soldier for Allah (God) in this life and beyond.

Brother Craig deeply loves his wife and children. He is the rock, the foundation, the lesson and the teacher. He instilled what he learned from experience and frequently highlighted the lessons he learned from his family. Brother Craig Muhammad deeply loves his wife and bestfriend, Brandi Muhammad. So much so that he accepted her (their) daughter, Jami Muhammad, as his own and helped create exact replicas of himself—Najee and Yasmeen Muhammad. “He is still taking care of the family and he is now with God and Grandpa” - Yasmeen

Brother Craig was preceded in death by his father, John Warren, and brother, Edwin Warren. Left to carry out his legacy, hold his energy close and cherish his memory are his wife, Brandi Michelle Muhammad; his children, Jami Michelle Muhammad, Najee Ali Muhammad, and Yasmeen Khalifa Muhammad; his mother, Verdia Thompson; his brothers Chris Warren and Daniel Warren; his bonus moms, Sandi Michelle Groce and Mary Warren; his brother-in-law, James Lanier; and countless cousins and an abundance of other family members and friends.

Family will receive friends Wednesday , August 14, 2019 at 11am until time of service at 12pm at the Chapel of White's.  Interment Evergreen Burial Park.  Arrangements by WHITE’S FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, 867 S.
