Elois Booth-Ransom-Goodman Obituary

Elois V. Booth Ransom Goodman, age 54, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at The Ross Heart Hospital. She was born on March 15, 1964, in Columbus, Ohio, the sixth of six children. Born to the union of Carl L. Booth and Edwina Faye (Carter) Booth. She was preceded in death by her father Carl L. Booth, mother Edwina Faye (Carter) Booth, great-grandfather Charlie Smith, grandfather Labe Carter, grandmother Annie Joe (Smith) Carter, aunts Annie P. (Carter) Mallory, Willie Carter, Theon Carter, Evelyn (Carter) Griffith, uncles Alphonzia Carter, Charlie Lee Carter, Thomas L. Carter, Homer Roy Carter and a nephew Michael Anthony Manley.

She leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband Travis Goodman, daughter Brittney L. Ransom (Sherman A. Glover) two sons Elijah E. Ransom, Isaiah E. Ransom and two granddaughters Sanaa A. Glover and Seleah A. Glover. Three sisters Carolyn (Earnest) Nellon, Carnell Roberson, Roenia Booth and two brothers Calvin (Gail) Booth and Carl R. (Kim) Booth and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was a graduate of Walnut Ridge High School of the Columbus Public School System. She gave her life to Christ at an early age joining Jerusalem Baptist Church. At the time of her passing she was a member of Jehovah Rapha Out Reach Church where she was a minister in training and she loved to play the tambourine. Her favorite gospel song was “He saw the Best in Me” and that was the way she looked at people, she always looked for the best in them, that was her gift.

Elois met Travis and they fell in love and were married in March. There union was one of the happiest times in her life. They had cook-outs and game parties which involved a lot of laughter. They invited everyone in to be a part of their happiness.

During her life, Elois lived for her children and grandchildren. She would always say Brittney was and is the best daughter any mother could have. The twins Elijah and Isaiah took god care of her medical need and for this she was truly grateful. She would say they have become great hard working respectable young men. She would always say “I know that I am blessed” because doctors thought that she would not live to see her children grow up. “BUT GOD”, not only allowed her to see her children grow up, he gave her extra when he allowed her to see her two beautiful granddaughters Sanaa and Saleah. She spent every waking hour with the girls, reading, playing dolls, planning events, taking them swimming, riding around looking at Christmas Lights and making cookies, if you knew Elois you knew the girls.

She was the best aunt that any niece or nephew could ever have. She was known to them as Aunt Mickey. She was their secret keeper and their place to run when they could not talk to their parents. She would take them everywhere. The Pumpkin Show, Red White and Boom, Columbus Zoo, ridding on Ohio State Campus and to see the newest pop artist who had come to town. They would spend hours in her room listening to the latest music and just talking. Elois was loving and supportive to all of them. She was at every High School Graduation and most of the College events, she knew that education was very important.

Her memory will be forever cherished by her husband Travis Goodman; children Brittney, Elijah, Isaiah; grandchildren Sanaa, Seleah; sisters Carolyn, Carnell, Roenia; brothers Calvin, Carl R.; nephews Bryant, Calvin, Craig, Tim, Ernie, John, Mike, David, Brandon, Eric, John, Bobby, Alex, Sean and Daniel; nieces Tina, Jackie, Cinnamon, Candy, Cynthia, Chrissy, Gerri, Alexis, Alicia, Toya, Ann, Carolyn, Janai, Tiana, Keyana, Ciana, Briana, Shaniece and Gerrika.
