Gwendolyn Dean

Gwendolyn Dean was born on August 17, 1946 in Nashville, TN to the union of Floyd and Doris London. Gwendolyn was the oldest of nine children including Floyd, Beverly, Francine, Robert, Anthony, Ricky, Sharon, and Aaron. 

Gwendolyn confessed her acknowledgement and beliefs in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior at an early age. She attended Harrison High School in Blytheville, Arkansas. Shortly thereafter, Gwendolyn moved to Chicago, Illinois in 1963. Gwendolyn was employed by Michael Reese Hospital and furthered her career at Cook County Hospital. At the age of  21 Gwendolyn met Jesse Dean and was married shortly thereafter.

Gwendolyn by nature, was an unconditional giving soul. She would go out of her way to help others, even at her own expense. She was passionate about children and the elderly. Gwendolyn had a love for cooking, feeding others, politics, and old movies. Gwendolyn was the life of the party, her spirit lit up every room she entered. Her vivid personality was unmatched.

Blessed with 72 years of life, our beloved Gwendolyn Dean made her transition to glory on May 29, 2019 in Columbus, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband Jesse Dean, her father Floyd London, and brothers Floyd and Anthony London.

Loving memories are cherished by her children Tonia Ingram (Darryl), Wilkie Johnson, Antwonette Dean; Her Mother; Doris London. Her brothers Sam Clinton (Adora), Robert London (Arnita), Ricky London, and Aaron London. Her sisters; Beverly Seaton-Fuller (Mario), Francine Hanson (Ralph), Sharon Flowers (Eddie). Her Cousin; Vernon Boyd. Her Grandchildren; Arianna Harris (Damien), Brian Sims, DeAngelo Sims, Rakim Sims, Damika Dean, and Wilkye Johnson. Her Great Grandchildren; Andrianna Sims, Michael Spragling, Deandre Harris, Arielle Sims, Dyani Harris, Brian Sims, and Bryson Sims. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special acknowledgement to Keni Jean Addison and Algermond Chris Davis. 

Family will receive friends Monday, June 3, 2019, 10am until time of service 11am at the Chapel of White's Funeral and Cremation Service.  Interment Glen Rest Memorial Estates.  Arrangements by  WHITE’S FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, 867 S.
