Hiram McKinley Thomas, Jr. passed away March 27, 2019. He was born on January 7, 1975 in Compton, CA, the only child of Hiram and Lorraine (Harvey) Thomas, Sr. Hiram graduated from Groveport Madison High School in 1993. He attended University of Tennessee Chattanooga and graduated from St. Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, IN. He spent many hours and developed lasting friendships on basketball courts throughout Columbus and the Midwest playing AAU basketball.
Following graduation from college, Hiram was employed by Chase and PNC Banks. He was a compassionate, giving man who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. An avid Buckeye fan, he faithfully backed them no matter the odds and heartily enjoyed gloating to the losers who would dare support the opposing team.
Hiram was preceded in death by his father, Hiram Thomas, Sr. He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Lorraine Thomas and a host of relatives and friends. He will be especially missed by Tammy, Brooklyn and his beloved cousin Adar (Dinky), who loved his “Dit-Dit”.
Family will receive friends Friday, April 5, 2019 at 10am until time of service at 11:30am at Springhill Missionary Baptist Church, 2000 E. 17th Avenue, Columbus, Ohio.
