Robert Hughes

“Bob” Robert Hughes, 65, of Columbus, Ohio passed away January 15, 2020. Bob who was born September 11, 1954, was a fun loving guy who attended East High School.

Preceded in death by mother Christine Dukes and step-father Forrest Dukes.

Bob is survived by his son “DeJuan” Robert Hughes (Jade) and his beautiful granddaughter Madison, and his brother Forrest. A host of relatives and close friends, especially Larry "Bimbo" Benton, Reggie Carson, the Wright family and the Meadows family.

Bob truly was a great friend always willing and ready to go, no matter what, as long as he could see and be seen by others. Bob was a true Cleveland Brown fan, and avid sport fan of all sports. Bob loved to play basketball, playing well into his fifties until he was physically unable to play.

Bob’s life was of “Living Life today, day to day”, always ensuring “having a good time and enjoy”. As we say, “Happy go Lucky”, that was Bob, not a problem in the world. Having a good time, Bob surely did.

Bob was a people person, as there wasn’t a person he didn’t know and there wasn’t a person who didn’t know Bob. He enjoyed being around people talking, and having fun. That was the best thing in life for Bob to do.

Robert was experiencing some very good fortune lately. As he has secured an apartment, monthly income and a TV, (that’s all he claimed he needed) and a renewed relationship with DeJuan.

Special thanks goes out to all the people who have contributed, helped, assisted Bob on his journey, especially the one who might have experienced some memorable personal moments. (Monica, Marv, Darryl, Dwayne, Mary, Ilene, Niecy, Autry and Paul.)

Family will receive friends Thursday, January 23, 2020 from 5:30 pm until time of Memorial service at 6:30 pm at the Chapel of White's.
