Ronald Adams Obituary

Ronald Dwight Adams, aged 69, was born in Toledo Ohio on November 7,1949 to James W. Adams, Sr and Mabel Swanson Adams. They gave him a strong foundation of education and excellence. He grew to develop musical gifts handed down to fortify him. Ron won vocal and choir competitions in his youth. He graduated from Scott High School in 1968 and attended the University of Toledo. Ronald worked with the Toledo Public Schools, retired from the State of Ohio (OSHEA), and was last employed at the John Glen International airport.  During his youth in Toledo, Ronald attended Mt Pilgrim Baptist Church. Ron was a composer of several songs. He became a member of Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies under Bishop Sherman Watkins. Ronald became a member of several choirs and a group called The Men of Praise. In 2003 Ronald and Dawnetta joined their lives in marriage at the Church of Christ of Apostolic Faith. In 2008, he joined Resurrection Ministries for All People and finally was a welcomed musician at Trinity at the Eastern Gate; where he played his guitar and served the Lord with enthusiasm. He learned to play guitar and performed on stages throughout Ohio and in Detroit. In the 70’s and 80’s he sang and played in The Soul Sensations, The Modern Men, Social Lubricators, Black Silver, Fresh, The Teresa Harris Studio Projects, and the BOSTON Local Toledo Band. After relocating to Columbus, Ohio; his direction shifted to Gospel music, and was active in many different choirs, gospel groups and workshops. Regardless of battling health issues for much of his life, Ronald, through faith, believed in overcoming them. Ronald adored music, his family and was a diligent worker with any challenge that came his way. He loved to skate and dance. He leaves behind him pain and suffering to continue in love, hope and faith in an awesome God! We will cherish Ronald’s memories, that now are a part of our lives.
