Sherita Diane Boyd was born in Columbus, Ohio on December 25, 1975. The Lord called his daughter home to be with Jesus on September 30, 2019.
At the age of four, Sheri and her mother moved to Los Angeles, California where she attended Normandie Elementary School and Nobel Jr. High School. In 1992, Sheri and her Mom moved back to Columbus, Ohio where she attended and graduated from Beechcroft High School. Sherita had several “aka’s” including Sheri, Boogie Night (that 2-year-old loved to dance to some Boogie Nights), Ms. Rita, Sherina and known by Grandpa Boyd as Boggie. Sheri loved IHOP and her favorite foods were tacos and drinking an ice-cold Pepsi.
While taking classes to become a certified teacher’s aide, Sheri went about spreading love and joy to many children at Our Kids Count, Forest Park Christian School, Northland Church of Christ Child Care, Childtime and Kiddie Academy, just to name a few. Children were the love of her life. The days she didn’t have children in her home was very, very, very rare. She remembered every child’s name she taught or babysat for over her 20 ear career and amazingly even had a story to tell about each of them.
Sherita is preceded in death by grandmother, Ruby Nell (Johnson) Boyd; father, James Watkins; baby daughter, Sharae Boyd; aunt, Joyce (Ware) Moore and uncle, Wilbur L. Ware.
She is survived by sons Taylen and Christopher; daughter, KrysLynn; mother, Terri Diane Boyd; grandfather, Cloves “Doddie” Boyd, uncle, Michael L. Ware (Angela Evans)’ aunts, Bonnie R. (Boyd) Pimento, Deborah L. Boyd and Detra D. Boyd; special cousins, Antony “Mookie” Pimento, Alan “Duce” Pimento and Ayisha Pimento; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
