In loving memory of Adrienne Hughes, age 75, who passed away unexpectedly on December 9, 2025. She is standing in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. No more pain, no more despair; just the showering of peace and love for all of eternity. 

Adrienne attended Marion-Franklin High School and devoted 43 years as a highly regarded and respected cosmetologist for Lazarus/Macy’s, enriching the lives of thousands who came to see her. The confidence and uplifted spirits she gave her family, friends, and customers were extraordinary—always above and beyond throughout her long tenure.

Adrienne was preceded in death by her parents William A. Bolden and Pearl Y. Bolden (Still), and her sister Renee Bolden.

She is survived by her son Earl Wallace Hughes III (Debrah); loving cousin, more like a sister, Betty Ann Day (Kevan); cousin Kemba Johnson (Todd); nephew Anthony Bolden (Renee); grandchildren Latrice, Devvon, Derrion, and Donnivon Hughes; great-grandchildren Tamia Hughes and Skylar Dorsey; and numerous friends and acquaintances.

She loved her old court shows and old school sitcoms—and would make you wait to call or visit until after they were over. Adrienne was always there to help those in need; if she heard someone needed something, she would go and get it for them, asking nothing in return.

Adrienne will be missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched with her beautiful spirit and love for her fellow man. She will be missed and forever loved.

You were a bright light in dark times and a warm embrace during the cold, depressing feelings I carried. You are greatly missed. I will always look to the things you taught me and the wisdom you passed down to me—they guide me still.
