Family will receive friends Thursday April 3, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at White's Funeral and Cremation Services. 

Annetta Watkins was born in Columbus Ohio on October 21, 1941, to the late Luther J. McKenney and Mary Grace Carter. She departed this life on March 14, 2025.

Annetta attended and graduated from East high school here in Columbus Ohio and later attended a few college courses.

Annetta was married to the late Marvin Watkins. From this marriage her one and only son Jarris Watkins was born.

Later in life, she moved from Columbus, Ohio to Washington DC where she resided for approximately 11 years before returning to Columbus.

Annetta was a long-time member of Trinity Baptist Church here in Columbus where she sang in the choir, and a present member of Mt Olivet Baptist Church and active member in the Women’s Book Club.

She was also a member of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra choir for many years. Besides her love for singing, Annetta loved bowling in her bowling league.

Annetta was employed by The Battelle Institute of technology. After retirement, she worked for Giant Eagle marketplace here in Columbus, and the Board of elections.

Annetta was proceeded in death by her father Luther McKenney Sr., mother Mary G. Carter, stepmother Mayona McKenney, brothers, Jimmy McKenney, Larry McKenney, Bernard Upshaw and granddaughter Nia P. Watkins.

She is survived by her loving son Jarris Watkins, daughter-in-law Verda Watkins, brothers Anthony (Denise) Carter, Butch (Shirley) Carter and Vaughn (Ana) Carter, granddaughters Keisha (Michael) Watkins Rucker, Jamarrisa Watkins, Tai Watkins, grandson Jaquan (Amanda) Jackson, a host of great grand children, a long time friend Cecelia Weiler aka "Sugar" and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
