Annie Brock

Annie Brock departed this life May 2, 2022. Family will receive friends Tuesday, May 17, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at noon at White's Chapel. 

Annie Mae Brock was born to the late Grady Mayfield and Nevada Williams on September 11, 1947, in Franklin County Georgia.

Annie was an independent hard-working woman. She had to finish school at an early age of 14 so that she could take care of her brothers and sisters. When Annie was three years old, she lost her mother.

Annie soon was able to move further on when she met her late husband Billy Paul Brock, soon married in Toccoa, GA in 1966. In 1968, they relocated to Columbus, OH where she worked at the Hyatt on Capitol Square for 30 years and then retired at the age of 65.

Annie enjoyed singing and her favorite singer was Shirley Caesar. Annie loved the outdoors and doing yard work. Everyone knew Annie as the neighborhood cleaning lady. She was always outside picking up trash and fussing at you if she saw you littering.

On May 2, 2022, Annie was called home to be with the Lord. She is preceded in death by her parents, Grady Mayfield and Nevada Williams, late husband Billy Paul Brock, her siblings Elizabeth Winters, Felix Williams, Forest Mayfield, Ralph Mayfield, Euris Mayfield, Mary Smith, Mira Carson, Helen Bullard, Hattie Mayfield, and Big Willie Mayfield.

Annie loved her family and could not be matched. She leaves to cherish sons Paul Curtis (Nina) Brock, and Anthony Jarbar Brock, siblings Katherine Alexander of Royston, GA, Sarah Fairley of Atlanta, GA, Carl Mayfield of Carnesville, GA and Freddie Pittman of Royston, GA. Sister-in-laws Ruby Nell Brock and Susan (Curtis) Sims. Grandchildren; Ni’key Brock, Shakeela Brock, Curtis (CJ) Brock, Anthony (Lil Ant) Brock, Lacardea Sunderland, Juklye Brock. Great grandchildren; Kenijuan Chandler, Keniah Chandler, Joshua Brown, Draya Unique, and A host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

The Brock family wishes to express their most sincere gratitude for the kindness and support. A special thanks to Naima Hafeez-Bey and family. You all are greatly appreciated.
