Family will receive friends on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at White's Funeral and Cremation Services, 867 S. James Road, Columbus, OH 43227. Livestream will start at 2:00 p.m.

Annie Louise Franklin was born November 1, 1946, to Ella Mae Cardwell and John R. Franklin Sr. in Columbus Ohio. She departed this life April 30, 2024.

Annie affectionately known as “Brown Sugar”. She was educated in the Columbus Public School system graduating from East high school. 

At an early age Brown Sugar accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal savior at St. Matthew FBH Church under the leadership of Rev. Joseph Slappy located on 18th and Atcheson St. The family moved fellowship to Refuge Baptist Church where she attended.

Ms. Brown Sugar was a very good cook her love of cooking lead her to work at Schmidt Sausage Company in German Village for many years. Ms Brown Sugar found a better opportunity, working for the state of Ohio cooking at the Ohio State University Hospital where she roster retired.

Ms. Brown Sugar was a very dedicated member of Rare Blood Motorcycle Club, where you can find her dancing on the dance floor, another thing she loved was dancing music.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Joyce Bridges, and brother Fred Thompson.

Ms. Brown Sugar leaves to cherish her memory, her loving daughter, Laverne Franklin, Detroit, Michigan, Rhonda Franklin, Columbus, Ohio. Siblings, John R. Franklin Jr, Linda (Vernon) Long, Darlene (Nathaniel) Price all of Columbus. Sister-in-law, Debra Thompson of Columbus, Ohio. Grandchildren whom she so lovingly cherished Lashawnda and Toccarra Franklin, Mark, and Cortez Fraley all of Detroit Michigan, 3 great grandchildren, special cousin, Emma, Barnett, best friends Brenda Hale, and Jeannette Pettyway of Detroit, Michigan, and Betty swift of Columbus, Ohio. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
