Family will receive friends on Friday March 13, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Herman Missionary Baptist Church, 2283 Sunbury Road, Columbus, OH 43219. 

Annie R. Howard, 77 yrs, went to sleep in transition to be with her Lord and Savior on February 27, 2026, in Columbus Ohio surrounded by her daughter Sherry, sons Gerald and Neal (Gwen) and granddaughter Jona.

Annie was born on August 16, 1948, to Hugh and Helen Simpson in Ashfield, North Carolina.  She attended Columbus public schools. Graduating from Linden McKinley High School in 1966. 

Annie retired from Nationwide Insurance Company in December 2006. Annie loved to dance, be around her family, she would tell you like it is ALL THE TIME. She loved bowling, she bowled in many leagues. She loved to travel.

Annie was a faithful member of Mt Hermon Missionary Baptist Church for many years. She served on the Gospel Choir, Culinary Committee, and she always helped around the church where help was need.  

Annie is survived by her sister Helen (Percy) Moore, daughter, Sherry (Bobby), her sons Neal (Gwen), Gerald (Tasha). Grandchildren: Quron (Brittany), Jona (Brandon), Robert (Tasha), Patrick, Shalia, Neal Jr, Ebony, Jabari and Davonte. A large host of Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She was blessed to have seven additional bonus children and a host of bonus grandchildren whom she also loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Helen Simpson, siblings James and William Simpson, and grandson Rayshawn.
