Anthony Wayne Carter was born on April 19, 1951, in Kimball, WV to Robert Edward Carter Sr and Senora Hamilton Carter.  He departed this life on August 16, 2025.  Anthony spent most of his young life in McDowell County West Virginia.   He later relocated to upstate New York.  From there he went on to join the United States Marine Corp, where he was awarded several medals during his time served.  Upon leaving the Marines, Anthony Wayne relocated to Columbus, OH where he met his wife Cathy, who he married September 27, 1980.  He also gained employment at Mount Carmel West hospital as a Nutrition Service Associate and retired from there after a long career.

Anthony loved spending time with his family and playing pool with Dexter and Kevin in his mancave.  He also took great pride in landscaping his yard and helping family and close friends.

Anthony was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Senora Carter, his brothers Robert Jr. and Turhan, his sister Nina Edmonds, and special aunt and uncle Cleo and Donald Smith.

He leaves his cherished memories to his wife Cathy Carter, his   daughters Caprice Baah, Lavon Carter, Brenda (Kevin) Daphney, Dr. Tonya Carter and their mother.  Sisters Beverly Finney, Ninette (James) Ward, Delphine (Roger) Henry.  Uncle James Hamilton Sr,   8  grandchildren, and  5 great grandchildren. In-laws Robert Office, and Sheila (Glenn) Carter. Special friends Ruth Griffin, Art, Roosevelt, Ron, Adrian, and God daughter Brink.  Numerous friends’, nieces and nephews.
