Anthony C. Russell

Anthony C. Russell, Age 61, passed away May 17, 2020. Calling Hours (only 10 people at a time) May 29, 2020, 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Private family service (50 maximum) at 11:00 a.m. at Bethany Baptist Church, 959 Bulen Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43206. Interment: Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5600 E. Broad Street, Columbus, OH 43213.

Anthony C. Russell was born May 15, 1959 in Columbus, Ohio to parents A.C. and Nancy Maxine Russell.

Anthony received his early education from Kent Elementary, Roosevelt Middle School and graduated from South High School. He attended The Ohio State University, with a major in Business Management. Anthony was a wonderful person, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to all.

Anthony was an outgoing and friendly person who loved his family. He enjoyed reading, his clothing store Gear-2-Go, and, and working with his lawncare service. He especially loved spending time with his grandson. Anthony loved and was loved by his church family, Bethany Baptist Church, where he served on the Sr. Usher Board and recently worked as a custodian. He participated in the church’s holiday plays put on by the Drama Department. He was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand.

Anthony enjoyed watching sports and meeting up with friends to have breakfast each morning. He never missed a school reunion, whether it was middle school or high school. He would frequently invite his classmates to join him for Sunday morning services on the last day of the reunion.

He was preceded in death by his father, A.C. Russell, his mother Nancy Maxine Russell and special friend, Chrissy O’Neal.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Shamaal Russell; daughter, Tiffany Iman Russell; grandson, Shamaal Russell, Jr.; sisters, Kelly Bowers and Angela Berry; brother, Aaron Russell, Sr.; special friend, Octavia James; host of cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many friends.

Anthony will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
