Arnold LaMont “Monte” Perry, a devoted Son, Brother, Uncle, Nephew, Cousin, and Friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 59 on May 27, 2026, in Columbus, Ohio.


Born on August 4th, 1966, in Columbus, Ohio, Arnold was the son of Franklin and Virginia Perry Sr. As he often referred to himself as “Gins 5th”. He grew up in Columbus and attended Eastmoor High School and Southern Ohio College. A lifelong learner with an insatiable thirst for knowledge, he obtained his Gun owners license while learning and educating others about the laws of being a responsible gun owner.


Faith played a central role in Arnolds's life. A lifelong member of Apostolic Christian Church of Christ in Columbus, where Bishop Arden “Pop” Dennis was pastor. He remained steadfast in his beliefs no matter where life took him. He leaves behind a legacy of passion and dedication in the entertainment industry of more than 30 years. Having been the founder of Starlight Entertainment and Co-Founder of Perry Brothers Entertainment. Monte was a respected and cherished entertainment promoter who touched many lives with his warmth, creativity, and tireless commitment to bringing people together through unforgettable events. Most recently Monte was a faithful employee C Harbers Mortuary Transport, showing his kind of love to others during their time of loss.  A few of his favorite pastimes include watching sports, coaching the Coaching Central Ohio Pirates football team, dancing, cracking jokes, smoking cigars, making connections and eating a good meal with friends and family and checking in you; regularly.


Arnold cherished his family above all else. He was preceded in death by his parents: Franklin and Virginia Perry Sr, Brothers Franklin Perry Jr and Anthony Perry Sr. and sister April Perry.  Survived by siblings Angela Brown, Andrea Hannah, Anthony Stowe, Tracy Perry.  Nephews Nigel and Micah Brown. DeShawn Hannah, Anthony Jr, Devon Perry, Nieces Christina Hannah and Asia Perry. Brother Darryl (Sharon) Francis. Cousin/brother Donald “Fella” Hawkins, Cousin/Sister Danielle “Lady” Hicks. Special Cousin Allen (Karen) Stowe. Danielle Jordan, Janina (Howard) Thorton, Anthony “Man” (Tamesha) Joyce, David “Dude” (Tia) Stuart and Archie “Third” Stuart.  Bonus Siblings Taft Woodford, Tiffany Lewis, Andre (Dyonne) Scott, Holly Barbour, Clay Johnson. God sisters Stephanie (Rob) Hudson, Carmen, Rhonda and Nichole Farve. God-Parents Dwight and Benita Farve. Aunts Imore Perry, Jackie Stuart and Ellen Foster. Special Cousins Charles (Laura), Sharyn, William and Kim Perry. Best Friends Andre Sanders and Jauan Hughes. Children of the heart Anthony, Andre and Amber Goins. A host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.


Arnold LaMont “Monte” Perry will be remembered as a Man of strength, wisdom, faithfulness, and love-a true embodiment of God’s love towards us.  His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched. May those who knew and loved Monte find comfort in their memories of this extraordinary caring, loving, funny spirited being who lived a life full of purpose and grace.
