Barbara J. Johnson

Family will receive friends on Friday, September 5, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. at White's Funeral and Cremation Services, 867 S. James Road, Columbus, OH 43227. Entombment: Greenlawn Cemetery. Livestream will begin at 12:00 p.m.

Barbara Jean Johnson was born to the late Lamburs (Dorothy) Hawkins and Marjorie LaGrant on August 29, 1938 in Saint Louis Missouri. She transitioned on August 20, 2025 at the age of 86 years.

Barbara worked for Northside Child and Development Center, and the Borden building until she retired. She loved children, fishing and playing games on the computer.

She is preceded in death by father Lamburs (Dorothy) Hawkins and mother Marjorie Miles, son Terrance Peterson, daughter Sharon Lynn Williams, sisters Dearn Braggs and Geraldine Miles, brothers  Donald Hawkins and Robert Hawkins.

She leaves to cherish in her memory her son Larry B. Hawkins, daughters Sheila Coleman, Bonita Peterson, and Penny Peterson, brothers  Lamburs (Belinda) Hawkins, Danny Hawkins -Dallas, TX, and Michael (Dorlene) Hawkins, sisters Mary Beckley, and Vicki Benson – Dallas, TX; special friends Ruby Richardson and Pearline Gaston, 19 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, godson Romel Johnson, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
