Bishop Columbus Baker was born on October 8, 1941 in Oak City, North Carolina to the late Booker T. and Annie Baker. He was the seventh child.
Columbus departed this life on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 peacefully at home in Columbus, Ohio.
Columbus is predeceased by his parents Booker T. and Annie Baker, his brothers William, Willie, Clarence and Linwood, his sisters Christine, Elsie & Roberta, friends Darlene Blue & former wives Mary Baker & Corrie Baker.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his wife Jacqueline; his daughters Dorene Michelle Baker of Rahway, NJ and Rana Baker, his sons; Apostle Rickey (Carolyn) Baker Sr, of Birmingham, AL, Christopher (April) Baker Sr., stepsons; Kawonsa (Brandi) Wade, Stanley (Jennifer) Stewart II, Shawn (Michelle) Stewart Sr., Shaquille (Courtney) Stewart Sr., of Justin, TX, Sheridan Stewart, Spencer (Erreona) Stewart, and Sydney Stewart, stepdaughter; Mary (Joel) Davis), his brothers; Ben Baker of Oak City, NC, Benjamin (Dorothy) Baker of Oak City, NC, his sister; Brenda (George) Johnson of Oak City, NC, grandchildren; Rickey (Tyrese) Baker Jr., Eric (Lajera) Baker, Erica Baker, Pope Lake, Courtnee, Christopher Jr., Michael Harris, Kwamel Wade, Ka’mya Wade, William, Nevaeh, Eliana, Isabella, Talia, Stanley III, Faurice, Shawn Jr., Marcel, Makai, Elaina, Shaquille Jr., Aniah, Ava, Zoey, Kaci, Abby, Sarima, Syre, and Cattleya, great grandchildren; Skye, Serenity, Sydney, Syniah, Velmon Jr., Vaughn, Serinity, Alana, D’Angelo, Michael, great-great grandchild; Anani, brother & sister in laws, Charles Sealy, Patricia (Ira) Daniels, Renata Sealey, Edward Sealey and Towanna Sealey, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts; Emily Blanche Stokes of Fayetteville, NC, Leatha Jones and Evelyn Johnson, both of Philadelphia, PA, spiritual daughter; Sylvia Benson and other extended family members and friends.
