Byron was born June 27, 1948, in Columbus, Ohio to John and Barbara Porter and he departed this life on May 12, 2025, at Pataskala Oats Nursing Facility.


He graduated from London High School in 1967. He joined the U.S. Army in 1968 where he served his country proudly. He was the recipient of The Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Byron also was a great organist and played with several bands and musicians.


Byron was proceeded in death by his parents John and Barbara Porter; brothers John E. Porter and Delbert L. Porter.


Left to cherish his memory his wife Lorrie A. Cosby; stepdaughter Passionada E. Davis; Granddaughter Jada A. Taylor; grandsons Elijah E. Morton, Aleander T. Morton; brother Howard M. Porter and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins.


Byron will be remembered for his kind heart, strong spirit and love he shared with everyone around him. He will forever be a blessing to those who knew him and loved him.
