Carl L. Bozeman

Carl Lindsey Bozeman was born May 8, 1925 in Columbus, Ohio to the late James “Luke” Bozeman and Della Clinkscales. Carl went home to be with the Lord on March 26, 2021 at the age of 95.

Carl met his loving wife, the late Verna Bozeman at church as a teenager. Prior to her passing, Carl & Verna were married and shared their lives together for 72 years.

Carl attended East High School in Columbus, Ohio. As a young man, Carl he elected to join the Military, the United States Army, and was assigned to Special Services at Camp Campbell, Kentucky.  After serving his country, Carl was honorably discharged and began working in civilian life including working for the Veteran’s Administration. Carl would go on to retire from United Paper Workers where he was Union President for 25 years.

Carl was a life-long member of Shiloh Baptist Church. As a member of Shiloh he was head of the Recreational Committee where he coached volleyball, softball, and basketball.  Carl was also Director of numerous plays Shiloh performed for the community.

Carl enjoyed photography, directing plays, and using his hands to build and create woodwork for his family and friends.

Carl is preceded in death by his wife Verna, daughter Marilynn, parents, and 9 siblings.

He leaves to cherish his memory daughter Sylvia, grandchildren Brian, Monica, and Jason (Lisa), 7 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, brother & sister-in-law, James & Donna Walls, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
