Carrington L. Melton II

Carrington L. Melton, II, departed this life January 2, 2022. Family will receive friends Friday, January 21, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Unity temple Church of God in Christ, 52 Reeb Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43207. On Saturday January 2, 2022, God Almighty reached down his hands and gave Sir Carrington L Melton II (CJ) his wings.  Sir Carrington, 28, was born on April 26, 1993, to Sir Carrington L Melton Sr and Angela Boyd in Columbus, OH.

During his life CJ learned to live life to the fullest.  He loved to travel, go to Basketball games and of course Football. His favorite Teams were Michigan State, Los Angeles Lakers and Cincinnati Bengals.  He was a valued employee of the Marriott and Planet Fitness in Dallas Texas and was described by one of his employers as a ‘Rising Star’ and a leader in the organization.  CJ loved his family and friends passionately and was a free spirit who worked and played hard.  He will truly and forever be missed.  This life will be quiet without his smile, laughter, and beautiful soul.

Carrington is preceded in death by his Grandfather Roosevelt Thurman, Grandmother Beverly Thurman, Great Grandmother Lela Thurman, Uncle Anthony Thurman, Special Aunt Emma Payne, and Cousin Rashaun Thurman.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his Father Sir Carrington Melton Sr, Mother Angela (Joe) Boyd, Jr, Sister Mikala Thurman, Brothers Javun, Myshaun and Jaylen Boyd, Grandmother’s Claudia Melton and Doris Boyd, Grandfather Joe Boyd, Sr, Uncles Andre Thurman and Charles Tucker, Aunts Latonya Palmer, Lagorra Tate (Las Vegas), Teda Lightfoot-Dotson (Maryland), Great Uncle Charles Thurman, Great Aunts Lena Brown (Alabama), and Katherine Patterson (Youngstown) and a Host of cousins, family, friends and special friends he called brothers and his special little princess Niah Prater whom he cherished.
