Family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at White's Funeral and Cremation Services, 867 S. James Rd., Columbus, OH 43227.

Catherine JoEllen Gordon (Mother Gordon or Mrs.’G’) was born in Rome Georgia, at the age of 1, she relocated to Columbus, Ohio. Catherine Graduated from Columbus Central High School.

Catherine is proceeded in death by: Sister Geraldine A. Robinson, Granddaughter: Leann D. Mitchell. Children: Lenore M. Claytor, Mattie E. Mitchell, Kathy L. Myles.

She leaves behind four daughters and one son Deborah (Charles) Davis, Jimmy (Yvette) Mitchell, Denise Nicholes, Valarie Tyson, Sarah (Chance) Roberson, Grandchildren: Tanya Harper, Broderick Harper, Elise Harper, Anthony Walker Sr., James Gordon, George Allen 11, Latisha (Carl) Chastang, Tiffany Mitchell, Christpher (Martina) Mitchell, Michael (Tiffany) Tyson, Sari Tyson. Brian Claytor, Derrick Claytor, Soneatha Lyles, Jimmy (Dorcas) Mitchell, Aleasha Mitchell, Cedric (Myisha) Roberson and a host of Grandchildren, Great Grand Children & Great-Great Grandchildren.

Catherine was a devoted mother that loved her children. There were times she worked 3 jobs to make sure her family had a roof over their head & food on the table. She was also an excellent cook. Catherine aka Mrs. ‘G’ retired from Mt. Carmel West as a dietary lead cook. She also worked as a nurse’s aide in various facilities.

Catherine gave her life to Christ over 35 years ago. She loved her God and was an excellent teacher. Her passion was teaching Youth Sunday School and was an Old Testament buff. She was serious about serving God. Also, a student at Aenon Bible College.

In March of 2015, At the age of 74, Catherine received her master’s degree in business administration /Concentration in Healthcare Management from Colorado Technical University.

As the Matriarch of the family, she will greatly be missed!
