Clara A. Pullen, of Columbus, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 23, 2026.  Clara was born on June 10, 1933, in Dover Delaware to the late Earle Casey and Mae Purnell.  She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Mary Ellen Hampton-Head, Arlene Foreman, brother Wade Davis, her son Lewis Gantt, daughter Cynthia Grice, stepmother Mabel Cooper, stepsister Mary Ellen Holly and late husband George Pullen.

Clara attended school in Dover Delaware.  Later in her early years she moved to Bridgeport Connecticut where she started her family, then relocated to Columbus, Ohio.  Clara purchased her home in Columbus, where she raised her children.  After many years of working for the Continental Cans Company, she retired and moved to Yucca Valley California to enjoy her retirement.  Eventually she returned to Columbus, Ohio where she resided.

Clara was the matriarch of our family.  She had a cheerful outlook on life.  She had a strong determination and the ability to succeed against all odds.  She provided strength and guidance to her family.  Her sense of humor brought laughter and calmness that would quite a storm.  She effortlessly made friends with her smile, wit and generous heart.  One of Clara’s hobbies was fishing, which she absolutely loved.

Clara enjoyed and loved being an affectionate mother to her three living children, Tony Allen, Sandra Gantt and Stacey Faison.  She was a doting grandmother to Deshawn Gantt, Doshea Watters, Aisha Allen, Kaleb Faison, Kamal Faison and D’Nasia Faison and her seventeen great grandchildren.  She was a loving person, a proud mother-in-law, a trusted friend to a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and her brother-in-law Leon Foreman, Berlin Maryland and a special sister-in-law, Gwen Spencer, Jacksonville Florida.  She was also fond of her Pastor, Pastor Melvin Hagan of Pennsylvania.

Clara leaves to cherish her loving memories to her two sons Tony Leroy Allen, Stacey (Keenia) Faison; daughter Sandra Gantt; six grandchildren (Deshawn Gantt, Doshea Watters, Aisha Allen, Kaleb Faison, Kamal Faison, and D’Nasia Faison); seventeen great grandchildren, nieces Bertha Cahn, Newark New Jersey, Sheraldine (William) Briddell, Berlin Maryland, Betty (Benny) Upchurch, Peggy (Curtis) Owens Columbus Ohio, Cheynne Foreman, Dover Delaware, Diane Foreman, Berlin Maryland, Leona (Michael) Elzey, Salisbury MD; nephews Johnny Head Columbus Ohio, Robert Leo Head, Dumfries Virginia, Anphon Foreman, Waldorf Maryland, Leon (Nola) Foreman Jr. Wesley Chapel Florida; and a host of great nieces, great nephews and special friends
