Connie Sims

Connie “Jeannie” Regina Jones-Sims left her Earthly bonds and ascended to be with the Lord in eternal rest on June 15, 2021 at the age of seventy. Born on September 6, 1950 to Cornelius Jones and Lula Mae Jones, she was the second of six children. A Detroit native, Connie moved to Youngstown, Ohio where she attended The Rayen High School. After completing her education, Connie went on to work at the Sheet and Tube Steel Mill in Campbell, Ohio. An avid traveler, Connie explored various parts of the U.S before settling in California. She enjoyed spending time with her family and participating in bingo, but her greatest joy lay in reading the Bible and worshipping the Lord.

Connie is preceded in death by her grandparents Alex and Arana Price; father Cornelius Jones and her mother Lula Mae (Tina) Price-Jones, her beloved husband James (Pete) C. Sims, and her granddaughter Tiara Whatley. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her siblings Jewell McCullen-Chapman (Robert), Sandra Y. Jones (Timothy), Pamela Jones-Swanson (Carl), Ernel Jones (Michelle), and Patricia Jones-Early (Doug); her children Sonia Jones-Whatley (Kenneth), Donald M Williams Sr, and Carmen D Williams; her grandchildren Daphine Jones-Glanton (Maurice), Kenneth Whatley Jr, Olivia Walter, Sharenda Whatley, Brayana Whatley, Daylin Bebbs, Donald M. Williams Jr, Darius Williams, Dareese Cheatum, Da’Jon Moore, DeJa’ Moore, Latoya Chapman; and her great grandchildren Na’Leaha, Jamyaha, Dorian, Donald III, DeCarlo, Gerale, Cyle, Cyla, CJ, Ma’lin, Kenneth III, Kylen, Na’Lia, Joe and Jayden.
