Cornelia E. Comer, transitioned, January 4, 2022. Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. at White's Chapel. Internment Eastlawn Cemetery.
Cornelia Lynn Elizabeth Comer was born in Wynne, Arkansas, on October 6, 1934 to the late Dattie Brown and Fred Jones. She was the younger sibling of Ora Lee Samuel and W.D Cole who preceded her in death.
She accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized. She was a member of Blessed Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio, under the leadership of Pastor Johnny Twymon.
In 1954 she graduated from Delano Joint Union High School in Delano, CA. After graduating she relocated to Cleveland, OH and united with James Duncan who she spent several years with. She later married Willis Comer in June,1979. He preceded her in death in January, 2011. Irene Comer, Nettie Comer, and Lela Glenn are her surviving sister-in-laws.
She worked as a barmaid for 10 years. After leaving there she worked at Anchor Industries for 20 years and finally retired from Cleveland Clinic after several years of employment.
She was loved by everyone she came across. She leaves behind her only daughter, Rosalind Curtis, grandchildren, Tynnyshia, Elizabeth, and Edward, great grandchildren, Noah, Jaylen, Tristyn, Emari, and Eleyah, and a host nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Anyone that knew her knows she loved plants and had a green thumb. She enjoyed listening to the blues and dancing the night away. Any given Sunday you could find her in the kitchen whipping up some good fixins’. She was full of life and her energy was contagious. She always made you feel comfortable and at home.
She transitioned on January 4, 2022 at home peacefully with her family at her bedside. She will truly be missed and remembered by all that loved her.
