Cynthia "Cynde" Arellia Simpson was born May 21, 1957, to the late Betty D. Johnson-Simpson and Allen F. Simpson. She fell asleep in the lord on December 5, 2023. Lovingly referred to as Cynde, she grew up in Columbus, Ohio. Cynde graduated from East High School in 1975, where she was crowned Homecoming Queen and recognized as Best Dressed. Cynde then went on to Central State University, where she sang in the gospel Choir. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age.

In Cynde's leisure time, she designed and customized hand crafted jewelry. She took on her passion of cooking from her mother, with her homemade vegan dishes and cinnamon rolls. When she wasn't cooking, you could hear her singing a song that the Lord placed in her heart. Being the fashionista she was, Cynde had a love and passion for shoes. Cynde also was very photogenic and always ready to show her beautiful smile for the camera.

Cynde's love to God, her faith, church, family, friends, and everyone that crossed her path will echo into eternity and is embraced in our hearts. From family in Ohio through Maryland, and various other states, we will always love Cynde's beautiful and inspirational soul. She blessed us with grace, elegance, love, and spiritual guidance, and most importantly words from the Lord. She was a true example of Proverbs 31:10-81, the Virtuous Woman.

Cynde was preceded in death by her parents, Betty Johnson-Hull and Allen F. Simpson; sister, Reta Collins and brother-in-law Jack Collins; grandparents; an Aunt and Uncle. Cynde leaves behind to cherish her loving memory, her two sons, Keaun (Shari) Simpson and Joseph "Joey" King; three grandchildren Isaiah, Sammuel, Zoey; Sisters, Berdina Payne, Iva Jean (Harley) Stewart, Marcia (Eddie) Robinson; Brother William "Billy" Hurt; one uncle of Maryland. James P. Johnson; A host of cousins, nieces,  nephews and friends.
