DaRon C. Elder, Sr. Obituary

Family will receive friends on Friday, March 24, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Royal Kingdom Ministries 1602 Woodland Avenue, Columbus, OH 43219.

DaRon Courtney Elder was born to Carl and Terri Elder on March 20, 1983, in Columbus, Ohio and transitioned to his heavenly home on March 15, 2023. He attended Columbus, Public Schools and graduated from Independence High School, class of 2001 where he was an avid and competitive football player who was also crowned Homecoming King.

DaRon knew no strangers, he could mingle with people of all ages and walks of life. He held a charisma that would light up a room and always had everyone laughing. His heart was so big, and he was always willing to help others. He had a memory like an elephant, and would share his frustration, when you couldn’t remember the same as he did. We all learned to just say “YES” when he asked us “Do you remember?”. We would laugh because it became a joke.

One thing we all knew about DaRon was that he was very neat and would clean a house better then Molly Maid. His parents could tell when DaRon was on duty, and he so enjoyed the recognition over his siblings. The only downfall was, when looking for your mail, keys, etc. he couldn’t remember where he placed them. So much for a clean house.

DaRon, affectionally known as “Dink” was so proud of his children, whom he called The Dynamic 4: DaRon Jr., De’Onna, December and DorRion. He constantly nagged and joked with them, just loving and being with them made him smile and his heart glow with pride. DaRon was the family’s social bee at our annual cookouts and always the center of attention on family vacations. No matter if he was dancing, flipping, telling jokes or talking about his fur buddy Botoe, he received attention.

He upheld his position proudly as the middle child. The only one who could manage him was his big brother Bay, whom he looked up to. He was his baby sister Deja’s protector. He constantly boasted about his immediate and extended family. All family was important to DaRon and he truly loved them all.

DaRon is preceded in death by Grandparent(s): Carl Elder, Sr., Dorothy and Daniel Walton.

He leaves to cherish his memory children, DaRon Jr., De’Onna, December and DorRion; parents: Carl and Terri Elder, brother Darold (Desiree) Elder, sister; Deja Elder and bonus sister; Renee Johnson and Jennifer Stewart; Grandparents: Cereda and Daniel Rispress, Darold (Maxine) Cosby and Laverna Elder, also a host of uncles, aunts, nephew, nieces, cousins and many other family and friends.
