Family will receive friends on Friday, September 19, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. until time of service at 4:00 p.m. at White's Funeral and Cremation Services, 867 S. James Road, Columbus, OH 43227.

Daren LaMar Hawkins was born on September 3, 1965, to the parents of Laura and Terry Hawkins. Daren was loved by his parents, grandparents, siblings, friends and a host of cousins.

He was a highly intellectual person that loved to read books. Daren was not fond of smart phones. He always encouraged anyone he came in contact with to read and learn more. He attended St. Charles Preparatory School and graduated from Walnut Ridge High School.

Daren had the purest heart and embraced the Lord. God knew his heart and God knew it was time to take him home.

Daren is survived by his mother Laura J. Owens; brother Sean P. McKinnon; sister Jody J. Hill (McKinnon); daughter Tasia (Zechary) R. Harper; son Daren L. Hawkins, Jr. and Aaron L. Hawkins; grandchildren Trent, Taylor, Camron, Harper and uncle Stephen L. Owens.

He is preceded in death by father Terry L. Hawkins; grandparents Wallace and Mary Hawkins, grandparents Nelson and Marjorie Owens; uncle Jimmy Treadwell, uncle Marvin “Butch” Owens and stepfather Peter W. McKinnon and mother of his children Stacey Nelson.
