Darrell Davis

Family will receive friends on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. at White's Funeral and Cremation Services, 867 S. James Road, Columbus, OH 43227. Interment: Eastlawn Cemetery

On February 7, 2023 the Angel’s came down and ascended to heaven with our loving Darrell Davis.  Darrell was born in Barnesville, Georgia on May 4, 1958. At the age of five, his parents relocated to Omaha, Nebraska until he was ten years old. After that the family came here to Columbus, Ohio where he and his sisters grew up in the Linden area. He graduated from Linden McKinley High School where he played on the football team. He was a die hard Chicago Bears fan and also had a love for The Ohio State football team.

After high school, Darrell Graduated from Hocking College of Culinary Arts. He really knew his way around the kitchen. He also had a knack for design. You could tell from the way he dressed, the cars he drove, and the way he kept his home. He always was the perfect gentleman, and that’s where his nickname “Cadillac” came from. He was what we would call a smooth operator. His conversation alone would have you intrigued, wanting to talk and learn more, because of his knowledge of religion and his culture.

He worked in London, OH with Gramag Trucking Company. He would get up at 3:30 a.m. and no matter what the weather was, he still made it to work. He only had two more years until retirement.

Darrell is preceded in death by his Father, Edward Davis, Sisters Bonnie, Jacquline, and Sheila Davis.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his Mother Thelma Davis, Daughter Sharmeka Hicks, Grandchildren: Shamira, Shamar, and Shamiya. Nieces - Carmenika Westbrook, Lamarra Davis, Candice Davis, Nephews – Lamarr Westbrook and Deonte Davis, Great Nieces – De’Jhona, Unique, Patience, Erin, Nedia, and Sion; Great Nephews – Reco, Carshaun, Aiden and Tee – Jay; two great nephews and one great niece; Special Friends Vaynette McClendon, and Anita Hicks.
