David William Hodnett, Jr.

The home going service for Mr. David W. Hodnett will take place on Friday September 25, 2020 from 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. at Corinthian Baptist Church, 3161 E. 5th Avenue, Columbus, OH 43219. Service (maximum 65) will start at 2:30 p.m. Pastor Michael D. Reeves, Sr., Eulogist. The family will receive flowers at the church.

David William Hodnett Jr. Bowrn April 19, 1941 to the union of David William Hodnett Sr. and Claudine Hodnett Manns, in London, West Virigina. At a young age his family moved to Bluefield, West Virigina, where he completed high school, met and married his former wife. David was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served for 27 years in the Army Reserves. Three sons were born into this marriage. David moved to Columbus, Ohio with his family after his third tour of duty. He was employed by Anheuser Busch Co. and retired after over 36 years. It is there where he met and married Jodie L. Eiland Hodnett.

David preceded in death by his parents, former wife Etta May Hodnett and brother-in-law Arthur Colson. He is survived by his sisters Sonja Colson of North Carolina, Deidra (Billie) Fuqua of W. Pennsylavania. His wife of 35 years, Jodie L. Hodnett., sons David III (Valarie), Brian (Casey), Nicholas (Elizabeth) Hodnett, step- children Chester (DeAnna), Robert (Shirley), LaDonna (James) Lee, Landon (Riian) Eiland, many grand-children and great grand-children that he loved dearly, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

David between the years 1991-2016 was the proud owner of a 46 acre farm in Johnstown, Oh where he tended to 11 horses, 2 goats, and 10 chickens. He loved his horses and his farm. David lived his dream and loved his family and life. He was loved and will truly be missed. He is at peace and resting in the arms of his Heavenly Father.
