Dennis L. Broadnax, age 74, was born in Columbus, Ohio on November 18, 1945 and departed this life for his home on high on July 22, 2020.
Dennis served in the United States Army and fought in the Vietnam War. He lived in New York City for a number of years and returned to his hometown of Columbus, Ohio in 1986. He retired from the State of Ohio and has enjoyed retirement spending time with family and friends.
He was blessed with a loving family, and was preceded in death by his mother Mary Harris, and brother Richard Houpe. He was survived by his devoted wife of 32 years Debra Broadnax; daughters, Dr. Denise (Rev. Edward) Lewis, and Nicolle (Sheila) Cordell-Evans; son Adar Broadnax; grandchildren, Thomas B. W. (Mary) Paige, Tyler L. Cordell, and Benjamin F. White, III; great granddaughters Michelle Paige and MaKenzie Paige; brother Clifton Houpe; sister, Jewel Harris; brothers-in-law, Bill (Ava) Lewis and Joe (Darlene) Lewis; and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, family and friends from across the country. He was also survived by special friends Charles Dunbar, Reginald Drew, Roger Brown and Charles Simmons.
