Desmond Whiteside

Desmond Whiteside departed this life October 31, 2021. Family will receive friends Monday, November 15, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at White's Funeral Home Chapel. Interment Eastlawn Cemetery. Service will be livestreamed.

Our dear, sweet Desmond was born to his earthly parents, Emanuel and Betty Whiteside on Sept. 14, 1966. He went home to his Heavenly Father, Jesus, on Oct. 31, 2021. He has happily joined his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles; sisters, Yvette and Bonita; son, Chaz; nephew, Purvis; and niece, Cynthia.

Still here to lovingly cherish Desmond’s memory are his siblings, Emanuel Jr. Cynthia, Darryl, Jamyl, and Romell; children, SaMeko, Jazmine, James Andre, and Tywanna; grandchildren, Chaz, Daamoni, DeAndre, and Saleaja; aunts, Mary and Virginia; uncle Roy; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will never forget what a wonderful and caring person he was.

Desmond was creative, artistic, talkative, intelligent, loving, dedicated, a prolific writer, a snappy dresser, and a very funny guy! But the MOST important part of Desmond was his complete and total surrender to Jesus. Every conversation, no matter the subject, was always referenced back to Jesus. Although he was “away”, he was totally FREE in Jesus! He used that time to earn his Associate Degree in Business, write a novel and completely study and interpret the Bible. This transformed him into the BLESSED Man of God he became.

Although we will miss him desperately, Desmond is smiling down, full of Heavenly Joy! We love you, Desmond now and forever!
