Donna Jean Davis, age 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Wexner Heritage Village Columbus, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She was affectionately called “Ms. D”.

Born on January 23, 1939, in Columbus, Ohio, she was the beloved daughter of Henry Moses and Georgetta (Jefferson) Gibson. She grew up in a loving home alongside her thirteen (13) siblings, Eugene Gibson, Henriette Hill, John Gibson, James Gibson, Virginia Williams, Floyd Gibson, Richard Gibson, Joyce Martin, Roxie Bolding, Tamar (Roosevelt) Eaton, Verna Ramsaw, Karl Gibson, learning the values of hard work, resilience, and compassion that would guide her throughout her life.

She was a faithful member of StrongPoint church for25+ years. Attending regularly until her health declined.

She was educated in the Columbus Public School System. She attended Columbus East High School. She was an avid reader. She loved to roller skate. She worked CCAF Church Camp in Zanesville, Ohio, Good Year Plant, Nelsonville, Ohio, Ohio’s food assistance program, U.S. Postal Service and meals on wheels, Columbus Ohio, she owned Ms. D’s Day Care Center,

She was married and blessed with five (5) children. As a mother she was endlessly devoted, offering her children unconditional love, wisdom, and guidance. She later embraced the role of grandmother to her 8 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Donna Davis is survived by her children, Diane (Will) Richey-Portee, Rhonda Plummer, Tony (Jerry) Glenn and Verona “Roni” Robertson., her sisters: Virginia Williams, Tamar (Roosevelt) Eaton and Verna Ramsaw; and many extended family members and dear friends. She is reunited in heaven with her daughter Yolanda Stewart Stevens, her grandson Brian Keith “Keefee” Robertson II and many other loved ones. She will always be remembered for her Joy and how she connected with people.
