Douglas L. Vann

Homegoing service for Douglas L. Vann will take place on Saturday, May 18, 2024. Family will receive friends at 9:00 am. until time of service at 10:00 a.m. at Whites Funeral and Cremation Services, 867 S. James Rd, Columbus, OH 43227. Interment: Glen Rest Memorial Estate located at 8029 E Main St, Reynoldsburg, OH 43068.

Douglas Lee Vann was born on April 19,1964, in Columbus OH to the union of Willie Vann and Castella (Hicks) Vann. Douglas departed this life on the morning of May 10, 2024. Douglas brought joy and laughter to all that knew him and truly put a smile on anyone’s face in his presence.

Douglas attended Marion Franklin High school, Columbus OH, and was a visible member of the Southfield community. For more than thirty-years, Douglas worked in various fields; chef, kitchen manager, construction and carpenter. He thrived in all fields and was affectionately known as a jack of all trades. In each of these fields, he brought his loving demeanor. Douglas was close to his family; he was a devoted father to his two sons whom he loved dearly.  

Douglas is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Castella Vann. He leaves to cherish wonderful memories: sons Brandon Jamar Kelley of Columbus OH (mother, Lisa Kelley) and Douglas Nigal Vann of Chicago IL (mother, Kymberley Boone and former wife); Special friend: Marie Broussard, Columbus OH; brothers Willie (Angela) of Pickerington OH, Bobby (Ellen) of Blacklick OH, Ghon (Donnalene) of Sacramento, CA, Tim (Jennifer) of Gahanna OH and sister Cindy (Jimmy) of Reynoldsburg OH and a host of nieces and nephews.
