Douglas McClure better known as “Dougie Fresh” was born June 18, 1948 in Spartanburg, SC along with eleven other siblings.

He was known for his amazing skills as an electrician. He never met a stranger, had an easy-going spirit. He loved being around all people and having random conversations with anyone. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends at his favorite spot and he loved music of all kinds, but he really loved jazz music.

Dougie Fresh attended and graduated from Central High School. He worked for the State of Ohio as an electrician for over 30 years until retirement. He really loved what he did. Douglas made a lot of great relationship while working for the State of Ohio. After retirement Doug kept on working because of the love of money. He loved playing the lottery in some cases; in some cases he became very lucky and you would never know.

In 1981, Douglas was in New York City and he met the love of his life, Stella. After three years of dating, they tied the knot on June 9, 1984. Doug and Stella were married for 39 1/2 years; they had an amazing and interesting life together...never a dull moment with them. Douglas was an amazing father to his four children  Verrondo, Rhonda Landon and Jessica.

He was a very loving, caring and protective father to his children, but he did not play when it came to his 11 grandchildren Justin, Julian, James, Marquel, Maliyah, Raniyah,  Nyasia, Daliyah, Larrisa, Isabella and Sophia.

Douglas is preceded in death by his parents Willis & Emma McClure, Sr.; brothers, Willis McClure, Jr.; Harold McClure, Steve McClure, Michael (Rene) McClure and sisters; Dorothy (Phillip) Callender and Marilyn Alarcon; brothers-in-laws Charles Rutherford, Sr. and Warren Wright.

He leaves to cherish his memory; wife Stella L. Thomas McClure; children Verronda (Sherri) Foster, Rhonda Brown, Landon (Riian) Eiland and Jessica McClure; brothers Quincy McClure, of Columbus, OH, and Steve Pilgrim, Spartanburg, S.C.; sisters, Earline Wright, Brooklyn, NY, Dr. Alsonia Rutherford, Columbus, OH and JoAnn (Luther) Henley Jacksonville, FL; sister-in-law, Gwendolyn McClure Columbus, OH, and a host of nieces and nephews; extended family members and friends.
