With heavy hearts and deep love we announce the passing of Duane Armstrong who departed this life on April 1, 2026. At the age of 67.

Duane was born on January 4. 1959 and was raised in the Bolivar Arms Mt. Vernon Community where he built lifelong memories and strong roots. He attended East High School where he formed friendships and experiences that stayed with him throughout life.

Duane was a hardworking and dedicated man. He worked at Ricart Car Mega Mall until 2002. He was known for his consistency and commitment. Outside of work, he had a deep love for football and was a loyal fan of the Cleveland Browns. Always cheering them on with passion.

More than anything, Duane cherished time spent with family. He loved fishing with his children and family at Buckeye Lake and truly enjoyed being near any body of water. You couldn’t get him away once he had a fishing pole in his hand.

He also found joy in supporting his loved ones. He loved attending bowling events to cheer on his sister Wilhelmina (Darlene) Armstrong. He proudly encouraged her every chance he got. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his brother Ricardo Sr. and spending time watching football with his baby brother Ronnie creating memories filled with laughter and brotherhood.

Duane loved life and the people in it. He enjoyed house parties, family cookouts, and being surrounded by loved ones. Whether playing spades or dominoes, he created moments full of joy, laughter, and connection that will never be forgotten.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Ella M. Wooten and James Armstrong:
his parents Willie Armstrong and Dolores J. Armstrong: and his maternal grandparents Mary Ellison and Daniel Jackson. He is also reunited with his siblings Brenda Armstrong, Bobby Armstrong, and Lorenzo Armstrong. Along with his nephews Roshawn Ransom Sr., Louise Armstrong, Quincey Yelder and Dominique Davis.

He leaves to cherish his memory his siblings: Willie (George) Armstrong, Wilhelmina (Darlene) Armstrong, Ricardo Armstrong, and Ronnie Lawrence Armstrong.

Duane was a proud father to his son Duane (London) Armstrong and daughter Myshekeyla Johnson. He was a loving grandfather to Duane Armstrong, lll and Alylah Armstrong who brought him immense joy.

He shared a special love with Chestina Copning and embraced her children Shaunda Kidd and Shawnette Kidd as his own. He also maintained a meaningful connection with his former wife Tanya Pace and Tera Johnson and held a special bond with his cousin Peilon Pace, and very close with Paul Pace Jr. who meant a lot to him. He also cherished his favorite nephew Quwante Warner, Wesley Armstrong and his favorite nieces Ricquelle Shree toles, Rickeia Armstrong and Yvonne Armstrong. Along with a host of loving family members and friends.

Duane will forever be remembered for his strength, his presence, laughter, and the love he gave so freely.
