Edward E. Evans, Jr.

Edward E. Evans, Jr., age 71, departed this life October 22, 2021. Family will receive friends October 30, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Christian Valley Missionary Baptist Church, 3330  Scottwood Road, Columbus, OH 43227.

Celebrating the life Edward Elza Evans, Jr., affectionately known as Pete who was born May 21st 1950 in Urbancrest, Ohio and passed away peacefully in his Lazy-boy recliner October 22, 2021.  He was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and a friend to many. 

He lived a life that was guided by the Lord. 

He was a dedicated IBEW electrician with 46 years of service until his retirement in June, 2009. 

Pete enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his 14 grandchildren.  He was an avid fisherman, he absolutely loved gardening but most of all he enjoyed supporting his grandchildren in their various achievements, goals, and activities.

He was preceded in death by his father Edward Evans Sr., mother Alice M. (Magwood) Evans, sons Edward, Eric, and Dwight Evans, sisters Carolyn and Edna Evans. 

Survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Janice, sons Kevin (Rochelle) Rankin, Shaun (Candance) Scott, daughter Shalonda (Dewayne) Davis, sisters Evelyn (Darrell) Holliday, Earllee Chatman and Emmagean (Joseph) Mitchell, brothers Eugene and Ernest (Joanne) Evans, one Uncle John Magwood.  14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was a dedicated servant of the Lord who touched many lives and will be missed by many, but in our hearts forever!
