Eleanor Rose Pettus

Family will receive friends on Friday, April 25, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. at White's Funeral and Cremation Services, 867 S. James Road, Columbus, OH 43227.  Interment: Eastlawn Cemetery 

Eleanor Rose Pettus departed this life on April 17th 2025. Eleanor was born on February 21st 1944 in Asheville North Carolina to Lawrence C. and Narvis McAfee. After moving to Columbus Ohio, she graduated from North High School in 1963. Eleanor earned her certification as a nursing assistant and dedicated her career to caring for others until her retirement. Eleanor soon discovered that the best was yet to come when she met and married the love of her life Robert Lee Pettus Sr. 

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Pettus Sr., parents, Narvis (Logan, McAfee), Grigley and Lawrence McAfee, sister, Joann McAfee, Narvina "Vina" (Roy) Haynes, brother, Lawrence Randolph McAfee Jr., daughter Terry McAfee, son, Robert Lee Pettus Jr.

Eleanor is survived by step daughter, Annette Hobbs (Richard), grandchildren; Tawain McAfee, Tamika McAfee, Michael McCord(Chanel), Antoine McCord (Courtney), Sarah A. Pettus (Patrick), Alex Martin, brother; Ned Pettus Jr. (Lonette), sister; Wanda Sealy (Darrell), great grandchildren; Korin Biggers, Loren Berry, Jacob Berry, Sidney Perry, Kiyami McAfee, Aryon Gardner,Charday McAfee, Braden McAfee, Major T. Mcafee; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Eleanor loved the Lord with all her heart, she would share her testimony on how God healed her, kept her from  danger, seen and unseen, and she truly believed in the power of prayer. She loved reading and listening to the word of God on TV when she was no longer able to attend church. Eleanor and Robert Lee would spend countless hours watching western TV shows and wrestling, she also loved her garden and flowers, and she was truly a stylish lady.
