Elizabeth was born May 1, 1941 at 3:15pm in Demopolis Alabama, born to James & Sarah Dell Kirksey Grayson. Elizabeth moved to Columbus Ohio at a very early age. Elizabeth has always had a love for God and a love for her church . She has been a lifelong member of Centenary United Methodist Church, she was very active in the Feed Program and the church's clothing ministry. Elizabeth is also a member of UMW now known as UMWIF. Elizabeth was married to David Harold Hairston who preceded her in death. Elizabeth was the mother of 6 children 1 daughter and 5 Sons 2 sons which preceded her in death David (Alonda) Hairston, Donald (Sandra) Hairston, She leaves her cherish memories with her children Denise (Aaron) Johnson of Warner Robins, GA, James (Monica) Hairston, Ernest Sidney Hairston, Willie (Tiffany) Malone, Brother Ernest Samuel (Veronica) Grayson, 2 Sisters Eleanor Patricia (Jeffrey) West, Emma Lorraine (Ronald) Southerland. She has 17 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews and family friends.

Elizabeth was known as the neighborhood Grandmother and called "Grandma Teetee" or "Ms. Lib". Elizabeth also enjoyed traveling, and having a good time at the casino. Elizabeth enjoyed looking for great bargains at the local thrift stores which she called her weekly therapy sessions.
