Elizabeth Eugena Spinner affectionally know as (Gina), was born on Sunday, December 29, 1929, in Columbus Ohio, to Adolphus and Fannie Bates, she lived a full and vibrant 95 years. God call her home on Sunday, February 9, 2025
Gina was educated in the Columbus school system and Graduated from East High School in 1947.
Soon after graduation, Gina joined the work force, and embarked on a long-dedicated career with the US Army Support Division at Fort Hayes. Durning her time in service Gina received many recognitions. The Department of the army Elizabeth Spinner is officially commended for excellence in the performance of her duties as Military Personnel clerk, office of the adjutant General, personnel Division. OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE RATING. Recognition is given presented November 1964. The Department of the Army Certificate of Service was presented to her on October 24, 1979, for 25 years of Federal Service. Gina retired in 1983.
Gina united with Union Grove Baptist Church, April 16, 1950, under the leadership of Dr. Phale D. Hale, she served as Deaconess and served faithfully for 74 years. Her service included the Deaconess Ministry, Mothers Board, Annual Women’s Day committee, Sunday School, wherever she was needed. Gina’s faith was a cornerstone of her life.
Miss Elizabeth Eugena Bates married Mr. Paul Spinner on August 4, 1956. Their marriage was a source of strength and joy. To the union a son was born, Paul Anthony Spinner, whom they loved, spoiled and adored.
Gina had a kind, warm, loving, gentle spirit, she was slow to anger and eager to forgive. Gina was raised in love she showed it to all that encountered her.
Gina was preceded by her parents, Adolphus and Fannie Bates, Husband Paul, brother Charles Robert Jones Sr.
Gina leaves to cherish her memory; son, Paul Anthony (Schell) Spinner; grandchildren: Tiaria, Christian, Antonio Spinner, Trayvon Ray (Lexi), Deshon Best, DaQuon Paige, Shavianna Black, 18 great grandchildren; Special niece/namesake Regina Rochelle Hutchinson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
