Family will receive friends Thursday January 9, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Memorial Baptist Church 3330 E. Livingston Avenue. Columbus, OH 43227. Interment: Greenlawn Cemetery.

Flora Louise Lawhorn, graced her presence to the world during the roaring 20s to Lummie and Fronnie Rhodes-Eckford 5/5/1928.  Flora’s 96 years of life included many travels around the world as a military wife and avid traveler. 

On December 22, 2024 you could feel a peaceful calm enter the room.  God sent his angels to help set the atmosphere for his sweet angel to enter.  Truly, with a twinkling of an eye our Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, and friend heard the trumpets sound, and she walked into heaven.

Flora retired from The Ohio State University Hospital where she served as a Ward Clerk (she enjoyed hands on patient care).  During this period of retirement, she traveled more and surprisingly sought to take on a part-time job with The Alvis House.  Flora was a gem and made a large impact on the residents as their “house mother” where she was retired two more times at the ripe age of 80+.  Flora was a proud member of Christ Memorial Baptist Church where she join various senior clubs, specifically the quilting club where she had made many blankets for family and friends over the years.  

Flora is preceded in death by many family members to include her parents, siblings, husband, and sons.  Left to cherish her memory her loving daughter and caregiver, Debra (Ronald) Ward; Niece-Daughter, Beverly (George) Reynolds, her grandchildren: Suleana Lawhorn, Darren (Leslie) Lawhorn, Shawn Lawhorn, Lea (Daryl) Dear, Dionne Pressie, Natasha Lawhorn, Clarence “Rabbit” Geter, Dwayne Ward, Qiana Lawhorn, and Julora Lawhorn; 17 great grandchildren, 14 great great grandchildren; caregivers, Marci, Lynn, Amy, and Camille; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Celebration of Life Thursday, January 9, 2025 (10:00a) Christ Memorial Baptist Church (Pastor E. Richard McDaniel). Interment at Green Lawn Cemetery.  Ministry of Comfort entrusted to White’s Funeral and Cremation Services.
