Family will receive friends on Monday, March 13, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. at Whites Funeral and Cremation Services, 867 S. James Road. Columbus, OH 43227. Internment: Greenlawn Cemetery.
Frances M. Levert, age 96, went home to the Lord on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at The Woodlands of
Columbus Assisted Living.
Frances was born November 26, 1926, in Miami, Florida to Charles and Eva Bell. She was two years of
age when the family moved to Columbus, Ohio. She attended Columbus Public Schools and had a
tremendous love for reading and learning. After graduating East High School, she took her love of caring
for others to University Hospital, where she was employed for 30 years as a Nurse’s Aide. She had an
early retirement due to a brief but victorious bout with breast cancer.
Growing up on Columbus’ east side, she attended Trinity Baptist Church where she was baptized at the
age of 13. Later, she moved her membership to Macedonia Baptist Church, where she was a diligent
worker attending annual Lott Carey conventions and serving on the Deaconess Board. (Later earning
Emeritus status) She was a member of The Rose of Sharon, Lenora Young Mission, Maturity Ministry and
Hospitality Ministry. She served in other capacities for as long as she had strength.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, George M. Levert, Sr.; parents Charles and Eva Bell;
Brothers, Willis and Alphonso Bell; Sister, Charlene Penson. Survived by her son, George M. Levert, Jr.
(Lisa), Only Grandson, Gabriel L. Levert, all of Reynoldsburg, Oh; Sister-In-Law, Pat Bell, Los Angeles, CA;
and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.
Frances was a devoted Wife, Mother, and Grandmother. She will be missed.
