Mrs. Garnet J. Ross earned her wings to be with the Lord on August 24, 2024.  Garnet braved several illnesses throughout her life and won!

She graduated from Columbus Central High Night School and worked in the Food Service industry for over 40 years with several major organizations, such as Columbus City Schools and Nationwide Children’s Hospital, from which she retired.  

She gave her life to the Lord at an early age and became a member of Mount Olivet Baptist Church. She later became a member of Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies Inc.

It is not a surprise that she loved to cook, especially for her loved ones and children, and that she did!  She also had a great love for traveling.  She traveled often within the United States and abroad.  She traveled by plane, cruise ship, train, car, bus…whatever was rolling she was there.  She often said her middle name was “GO!”

Mrs. Ross loved and raised many children on Pamella Drive, and beyond.  Each loved her unconditionally and still love her to this day.  She was the epitome of love and kindness and a blessed example for everyone.

She is preceded in death by husband Frank “Bud” Ross in June 2005, parents Felton and Susie B. Gray, and sister, Frances Vaughn she leaves to cherish her memory, three children, Bernard Gray, Phyllis Gray and Christopher Ross, sister Phyllis Brock, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

We will always love her kindness, her beautiful smile and all her loving hugs. We thank God for her because she taught all of us how to enjoy LIFE.
