“Jenny”, as she was lovingly known, attended Franklin Junior High School and was a 1968 graduate of Columbus East High School. She was employed by the Columbus Municipal Employees Federal Credit Union for several years and recently retired from Toyota Direct of Columbus. Jenny’s hobbies were baking and reading, but her greatest joy was caring for her son and her grandchildren.
Genell is proceeded in death by her parents, Eugene and Sally Brown; Grandmother, Lucille Friend; brother, Terry Eugene Brown and sister, Demetria Edna Brown.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved son, Lewis Hollis, Jr; her step-mother, Artis Mary Brown of Greensboro, NC; her sisters, Tonie Jean Nixon of Columbus, OH, Karen Brown and Lisa (James) Jordan of Greensboro, NC; her brother, Eugene Brown, Jr. of Charleston, SC; her grandchildren, Alexis Michelle Hollis and Lewis Hollis III; Maternal Aunts Anna Friend, Chicago, IL and Ella Jackson, So. Holland, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends near and far.
“Jenny” will be remembered for her willingness to help anyone in need. Whether it was preparing snacks for the football team or baking pound cakes for anyone who called or providing comfort to a hurting friend, she was always ready to serve. She is our forever angel and will be forever missed.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. – Matthew 5:4
