Gloria Jean Reed, age 76, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday January 10, 2026, at St. Ann’s/ Mount Carmel Hospital. She was born on September 28, 1949. Gloria received her degree in Early Childhood Education. She married Earnest Lindsey Reed, Jr., on May 9, 1998. She was employed with St. Ann’s Hospital for over 25 years in administration. She later changed her career to be a childcare teacher where her heart was truly with the children.
Sis. Reed was a joyous and full of life person. The doctors had given her a report in her youth, that she had crippling arthritis and she would eventually be in a wheelchair not being able to walk. Gloria had GREAT FAITH in God! She prayed and trusted that God would touch her body. He did!! Sis. Reed dance, until her death, for the Lord Jesus Christ! When she rose up to Praise dance, God took control of her body and she danced MIGHTLY. She was not going to let anyone steal her Praise from her. She Praised God through pain and suffering. God never said it would be easy, but our Heavenly Father, the ALMIGHTY God walked right with her through it all. She was a true testimony of believing, trusting, and letting us see a miracle performed before our eyes. She quoted the scripture,” I can do ALL, not some, ALL things through Christ that Strengthen me” Philippian’s 4:13. For all that seen her dance. Question – Won’t He Do It??? YES, HE DID!!!! AMEN AND AMEN!
Sis. Reed was a member of CrossRoads Baptist Church, former member of Christian Assembly and The Apostolic Christian Church (southside of Columbus). Sis. Reed worshipped with many organization and missionary outreaches over the years. She worshipped wherever the spirit led her to assist when the door opened. She wanted the love of Jesus Christ to be shared all over the world as she traveled abroad.
“You turned my mourning into dancing; You peeled off my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks forever.” Psalms 30:11-12
For this day is Holy to our Lord and not being grieved and depressed for the Joy of the Lord is your strength and stronghold. Nehemiah 8: 10 Amplified

The Bright Angel will be sincerely missed by a tremendous number of people, especially the children who sang with her this song “It’s a Bubbling”. It’s a Bubbling, It’s a Bubbling, It’s a Bubbling in my soul, I sing it, I SHOUT it since Jesus may me WHOLE. Some people don’t understand it but this ONE THING I know, It’s Bubbling, Bubbling, Bubbling it’s a Bubbling in her soul all the time! Gloria’s bright smile showed how she was just Bubbling with joy. God has made Gloria WHOLE!!
