Gloria Jordan Obituary

Gloria Annette (Tutu) Jordan was born October 2, 1942 in Atlanta, Georgia, and passed away on March 9, 2020 in Columbus, Ohio.  She was born to the late Waddell Allen and Dorothy Allen-Payton.  She attended East High School.  

Gloria loved her family and close friends dearly. She had a huge heart and a gift of caring for others. Throughout her life, she was employed at various care facilities to include the State Psychiatric Hospital, First Community Village, Eastland Care Center, First Choice and Central Ohio Home Help Agency.

In addition to loving and caring for others, she loved children, eating, Lebron James and her dog, Mister.

In 2006, she was led to New Faith Ministries where her passion for the Lord grew immensely. She sang in the choir and she was dedicated to assist with the food pantry ministry.  Her commitment was unparalleled, she was placed over the coordination and operation of that ministry and ensured over 180,000 families did not go hungry.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents Waddell Allen and Dorothy Allen-Payton; stepfather, Tommie B Payton; husband, J.C. Jordan; brother Charles K. Allen; sisters, Sharon Mansfield and M. Vanessa Allen; nephews, Michael C. Allen and Marshawn Barnes; niece, Terri White and a host of aunts and uncles. 

She is survived by sons Andre (Lisa) Allen and Sherman Ezzard; daughters, Tina Allen and Shanika Jordan; brothers, Michael (Ann) Allen, Clifford Allen and Carlton (Tonda) Allen; sisters Jacqueline (Robert) Lee, Sounia (Keith) Ray, Dorothy.(Charles) Rivers, Valena (Wayne) Mixon, and Veloris Edwards; grandsons, Nigel, Sherman, Brandon, Bryan, Sean and DeCarlo; granddaughters, Sharika, Alonna and Brooklynn; great grandsons, Sy’ir, Zayne, Laron, Glenn Jr. Montrell; great granddaughters, Adrianna, Riley, Sabria, Lavayia, Londyn, and Paris. 

Special friends – Ronnie Thornton, Louise Joyner and family, Ron Mckenstry, Mr. and Mrs Paul Poole and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Stewart, Stacy Crawford, Dorothy Davis, Mr. and Mrs Warren Sanders, Ms E. Panning, Ms M. Wiedenheft, Sharon Richardson and Michael Dean.
